MBRP 4" with muffler?

Hey guys, I have recently purchased an early 99 7.3 6 speed 4x4. I am in the process of doing a 6637 intake (as in i have the parts i need to find the time to throw it on) I want to get gauges soon ( already asked questions and had them answered in another thread) and last thing i want to do for now is exhaust. Here is my dilemma. I cant have my exhaust be super loud. I was looking at MBRP's 4" with a muffler and was wondering, how loud it was? Is it much louder? My main objective is to flow better obviously, but I would like to keep it on the quieter side for now. How about their system without the muffler? How much flow does the muffler restrict?
Thanks in advance,
Dan.

2001 F-250 Superduty Powerstroke 7.3 with 4in MBRP exhaust - YouTube

Thats a link to mine with the muffler and 4".
Not "loud" but not as quiet as stock.
There's not much to the muffler... Its a straight through design.

Its hard to tell overall volume from a video, but I think that sounds real good! Anything you would do different if you had to do it again? Is it hard to sneak around with that exhaust if you keep your foot out of it?

Nothing I'd do different.
I don't think i could sneak around with it stock. Its not obnoxious. As long as you don't hammer on it when you take off its not that bad.

I have the MBRP 4" with the muffler and I don't think it is loud at all. If my wife hasn't complained, it must be some what quite.

I threw the 4" MBRP muffler back there. It's not louder but it's meatier. The sound is way better, but you didn't amplify anything.

Check it out, the same set up you are looking at. Loud enough to keep the right foot in check at 3am when I get home from work, but loud enough to have fun at 3pm

Heres the truth, the engine is louder than the exhaust, at least in this set up. So as long as you go with that, you have an easy explanation; "Its not my exhaust, its the engine. I cant quiet the engine."
