he wants to go mechanical... you said a CAT pump would be better than a P7100. Which CAT pump would be better?

cat 3208, massey had a few pumps, international had some v8 pumps, mack has some v8 pumps, john deere has some v8 tractor pumps, hell hypermax actually builds pumps for v8 diesel builds ranging from 13mm-15mm. Lots of options. Perkins has a p3000 pump that MANY others have used.

so every one of those pumps is better, more versatile, and has more aftermarket support than the P7100?

Ik it would be dumb to spend 20k on this but I've always wanted to drive a dd mechanical 7.3 powerstroke. And I agree with the v8 pump it saves room cuz the straight 8 pump is loooong.

If I had the money I would love to p-pump a 7.3 to dd, but it isn't practical at all. If I win the lotto tho I'll let you know what a p-pump or CR 7.3 dd feels like haha
