bypass filters...
My truck had an Amsoil bypass filter system installed when I bought it. I went ahead and changed the oil when I bought it and used Amsoil 15w-40 full synthetic. I'm wondering how often to change my oil. Normal driving conditions, no dust, light towing now and then. 2001 f-250 4x4, auto, 143,000 miles

Amsoil recommends oil analysis. I say 5k. Oil is cheaper than a motor

I'm running Amsoil, without the bypass. (Bypass in on the want list) I know they say run it until 25k. Don't do it. I'm planning on having an oil analysis from Blackstone around 5k. $25 for the analysis is cheaper than a new motor. I'll probably change the oil at 10k, even if they say it's still good.
