It sounds like the HPOP is running out of oil and the injectors are starved. No dffuser will help here, it increases the ICP. Jody already maxes the ICP with his tuning. Call Jody and talk to him. Also, if you know anyone with a snap on scanner or AE they can check you ICP while under WOT, this will tell you if it is the HPOP or not. Our early99 HPOP is lower volume than late99-03 trucks. The pump is a swash plate style and the early99 is 15* and the later years are 17*.
When was the last time you changed you fuel filter? A clogged filter can starve the injectors of fuel. Yes, shimming the FPR to 63-65ish psi. That should help as well. |

The only other issue I have would be that i put a regulator in my map line set at 20 psi with air compressor, I still throw a check engine light, I'm going to pull the reg and see if its not working ( el cheapo) thanks again chris |

The wastegate has nothing to do with fuel. The wastegate bleeds exhaust pressure off so so the turbo does not overspeed at high rpm. The autoenginuity is a great scan device. It is for sale through ITP diesel here: Tools . I have one and it is well worth the money and a darn handy tool.
I to have a regulator on my MAP and my truck will not throw a code when at 45psi of boost. If your regulator is set correctly it will not throw a CEL. Back off your regulator half a turn and take it for a spin to see if that helps. If you set it with a compressor, you should have used 30psi as the max input when you set it, it is a pressure differential issue. Your fuel pressure is fine. As long as it does not drop below 40psi, you are not loosing performance. |

When your SES light comes on, do you have a way to check the codes? It is most likely the ICP code not a overboost.
