tip question??

This is probably a stupid quetion but,
I currently have a 4" banks exhaust system.

Will my truck sound different with a 4", 5", or 6" diameter tip.
Where should I be looking to purchase a tip?

The only thing that will change when you change the diameter of the tip is the look of the tip...

Unless you acquire a tip with some sort of filament in it, it shouldn't should any different at all. I've got a 4" bullydog system with a 5" tip that I welded on and it sounds exactly the same as it did without the tip.

Any truck shop should carry these, or just take a look online. AutoAnything is good for stuff like that, or check with Farmboy Diesel here on our vendor site and see if he carries them. I'm sure he'd be able to get them to you

Anything else just ask!

I must disagree. I had a 77 short bed Ford with a 460 and after I changed the tips on the dual exhaust to a larger diameter end ( two each 2 1/2" pipe to two each 4" tip) the sound changed drasticly. Before it was just a healthy 460 sound, afterwards it sounded so good that I could sit behind that truck for hours listening to it's notes. They let the flowmasters really sound off.

While these are 444 ci diesels... they're not 460 gas motors.

THe turbo is similar to a muffler in itself... it kills a lot of the sound. Straight pipe that baby and put at least a 6" tip on her!
