7.3 pull truck motor upgrades

Hi everyone. Im currently in the process of building a 7.3 pull truck. Its a 2000 7.3 with a 96superduty zf5. Currently the motor is completly stock. As far as i know. the turbo has a 1.0 a/r housing??? Im looking to put 500hp to the ground. But i want it streetable. As far as simple upgrades like chip, intake, exhaust, iv got that taken care of. The 140V idm mod is already in the works. Im also building my own fuel system. One of my main questions is what pump should i run for it? Iv seen the fuel labs n airtex. But idk which pump to get as far as specs go. Also. Should i be concerned about rods or anything?

Any other simple upgrades im missing???

Also i do not have the stock lift pump anymore so thats why im just going to buld my own system. Also which return regulator should i run?

i my opinion, i dont think you can go wrong with the fuel labs stuff for the pump or the regulator, and if i was building a pulling motor i would definatly do rods, and valve springs. and to get to 500 you will probly need an injector upgrade along with a HPOP on an early 7.3. you might as well do a bigger turbo now too otherwise that will also be a limiting factor.

oops, the 96 tranny threw me for a loop. Never mind you dont have an early 7.3 but it may still be a good idea to upgrade your HPOP.

the OBS 5spd is much weaker than the 6spds that come in those stock.. not sure why you'd do that.

A 2000 super duty has a .84 hot side housing stock.

The compresser side says 1.0 a/r. Not sure if thats an upgrade or not. But thats what i got. And i went with the 5spd because it was 300 bucks. If she blows... well then she blows... gives me a reason to find a 6spd...

I plan on injectors next year as for now i just wana get it moving.

As for the pump n regulator i wana know which specific pump will work. I dont know what the line pressure needs to be after the pump to fill the heads suffitiantly... i got a 140gph pump but it only pumps 4psi. Im 98%a certin that wont work but i really have no clue.

my truck runs at 60psi so i dont think that will work, if it was me i would just buy a set up from Irate Diesel. by the way you are going to be a long way from 500hp

a 1.0 compressor sounds about right... sounds like an e99 or van turbo or something funky tho? I'm not good w/ sd sizes though.

It's still got a .84 turbine stock.

I know ill be way shy of 500 with no injecters. The ultamate plan is to show up my buddies cummins. He pulls around here in street legal diesel. Its an ext cab long bed. Looks like hell. But yea. He is in love with it n i just wana show him there are other trucks asides cummins that can pull.

So if n when i order a wicked wheel or bat-mo just order one for a .84 or a 1.0?

Ill look into the irate sticks. A buddy in texas said he can build me ones bbut well see with that. Not holding my breath...
