building a 7.3

I recently purchased a 2001 f250 crew cab 4x4 7.3 I bought it really cheap and am planning on making it the truck of me dreams when I got it the guy said it had low compression on one cylinder I haven't confirmed that yet but I am goin to build up a motor to put in it and I am needing some advice on things to get because I love rolling smoke I am going to tear the motor down and have everything checked out and then rebearing and rering it maybe new pistons what ever it needs but I want to know what performance mods to do and what to get I know I want an aftermarket intercooler, turbo, injectors, a chip,hpop, afe intake tubes, but I don't know what other tricks I should do or what brands to buy let me know what u guys think.

Care to elaborate as to why the upgraded HPOP and upgraded intercooler are considered a "great waste of money"?

There is a lot of info on what parts are better than others. It sounds like you know waht you want but asking questions like you did will start a war in this thread about what brand makes the best product.

Search around, read, then read again, and then read some more. Asking us what is best will get you many different responses which in the end may not help you make a decision.

What is your plan for the truck? Towing? Racing? or just DD? All that info will also determine what you should do to your rig.

Im not an expert at all on this but the extra Q's i asked you will help the more knowledgeable people help you build a truck for its specific needs.

Because or oem ic's are plenty good, and your 17* hpop will be fine thru stage II single shot injectors.
