What's this valve?

Hi All,

I have this odd valve connected to the hose line running from my y pipe to my map sensor. It goes in order from the y pie, boost gauge line, this valve, then the map sensor. I am thinking this was perhaps a 2001 poor man's boost fooler? I have a new RiffRaff boost fooler unit ready to install but am wondering if this is perhaps needed to keep the correct psi showing on my boost gauge, if not a older style boost fooler? Just wondering if anyone ran into this before and wanted to see if anyone knew before I start ripping it out. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Here it is:

Here you can see it in the sequence from my manifold, gauge line, valve thing, map sensor.

Ahh the fun of upgrading your "new" truck when it's not stock...
