Exhaust Heat Wrapping?

I just purchased a diamond eye turbo back exh. and have some new exhaust header wrap laying around,Does It make any diffrence at all if i wrap the down pipe? the reason why i asked is cause someone told me not to because when ever it gets wet it will stay wet and eventually begin to rot the down pipe. i know if helps with long tubes but not sure about diesel. Any suggestions?

not worth the cost/time. No noticeable difference.

If you want to reduce the heat, have it high temp coated.

Might help with floor heat but I've also heard it makes it rot a lot faster. I don't think it would help with performance.

I wouldn't do it on anything other than a stainless 304 system. Mild steel will rot out fast from the heat.
