Tranny

I bought a used 2001 F-350 4x4 SRW. I asked someone with far greater knowledge than I on advice. Said person advised me not to put in a VB and 6.0 oil cooler bc my tranny has a diode and would be wasting money on the inevitable. Told me to start saving for a BTS tranny when this one goes.

I have on order the DIY filter/MBRP 4in turbo back single. Looking at guages as i type this. If I put a tuner in (Beans, TY, PHP) will this burn up my tranny faster? Obvious if i drive like a ratard it will but those of you who have this set up how is your tranny doing? Or did?

It all depends on your right foot. But when you add a chip they also increase the line pressure and shift strategy for your trans.Mine held together for 3 years with my injectors and that was with a lot of racing.

It's just a matter of time. A lot depends on when and who put it together at ford I found out. They have batches that are worse then others I was told. Sooner or later will lookl like this when it goes. Mine only had 109k on it never pulled and has lived a babied life. When mine went out I was slowing down at a stop sign and when it downshifted it slammed into gear and then no second after that. Coast clutch snap ring off for who knows how long. Does your truck basically go to idle when you let off the pedal at highway speeds?
