Innercooler upgrade?

I was wondering if a more suitable innercooler is necessary when upgrading from a stock turbo to a 38R. I'm looking for efficiency with a new turbo & other mods, rather than additional power as the foremost goal. Thanks for the input.

My friend has an 01 with at 38r and stock inter cooler. He got a huge performance boost as expected, but a bigger intercooler would definitely improve performance.

Some guys are using the intercooler from the 6.0.
Much bigger, and more efficient!

Theres nothing wrong with the stock 7.3's... but a 6.0 IC is a great bolt-in upgrade.

Th 6.0 IC is not worth it unless you get it for free. I saw 0 difference in temps and the size is almost identical.
