More power wanted!
I'm a new member and has searched a lot of different topics and threads and now I'm wanting more power from my stock 7.3. I have a 99 7.3 f350 drw, build date is 02/99 (early 99?) I'm new to diesels so please bare with me.
I'm guna soon be buying a 5in exhaust turbo back and aftermarket cold air intake, and wanting to go with maybe a ts or tw custom tune chip, mainly because I like the different tunes and rotary switch setup, my problem is that I also want injectors, (stage 2) because I hear everyone that goes with stage 1 switches to 2s not long after. What will I need to do and what else do I need to start saving cash up to buy in order to have stage 2s, intake, tw or ts chip, and 5in exhaust?? And what brands do you recommend? I already have gauges and this also isn't guna be a race or drag truck it's my daily driver but I wana give a cummins or duramax a run for there money if one pulls up at the red light...... No, you have a late 99. 12/08 is early/late.
You should get: Intake - Can be done for 50-75ish depending on well you do it Exhaust - You can always just get a cheap delete pipe but full systems maybe 350-450 Gauges - You can go cheap, or get an Edge all in one, or just the common three for 350 maybe. Custom tunes for sure. Tony Wildman, PHP, Beans, Swamps, Gearhead, Innovative, Tyrant. - TW with chip and 6 tunes is 425 I think. Valve body for an auto trans to help it hold the extra power - Got one for 125 barely used. New maybe 175. 6.0 trans cooler would be a good idea - All kinds of prices. New is 300ish cause of the demand. Possibly a larger turbo for bigger sticks. Not sure at what size you need to upgrade. - 1250 minimum Possibly a larger HPOP for reasons above. - 500 ish and up. I'd at least do a a FRx, if not a full RR fuel system. - FRx is in the 150 range. RR can be done for a few hundred all DIY or more if you buy it. What size injectors? This is from Casserly's site - Stage 2 Single Shot New Stage 2 Injectors will flow the same 160cc's of fuel the Stage 1 injectors do, but utilize larger nozzles. 400-425+hp is obtainable with a custom chip, upgraded turbo, and fuel system. That will be 140hp above stock horsepower with supporting modifications. $2299 + $1200 Core. Rosewood - Budget Stage-2/s: $885 Overhaul, retains AB or AD fuel output, new nozzles flow 80% over stock. With correct supporting mods, these are capable of around 350 - 375 hp. Premium Stage-2/s: $1235 Overhaul, retains AB/AD, new Plunger & Barrel assemblies, new 80% over Nozzles. Premium Stage-2/c: $1335 *Overhaul, converts to 160 cc Single Shots, nozzles flow 80% over stock. With correct supporting mods, these are capable of around 400 hp. Roses injectors are the way to go

Your better off going with hybrids 238 or 250 100's if a lot of towing, or 200's. I'd say go 250/200's. You can always detune them till your ready.
I have 250/100 injectors toned down for 400ish HP. When I go forged Ross, I will push for 550 or so. Full force, swamps,or Jim rose injectors are all good. I chose to go full force cause I got a decent deal. Some places do package deals as well with add discounts. |

I do very little heavy towing mostly just lite towing with a few mowers on the back, and that once a week, I'd like to have 400-450ish nowhere around 500 hp lol so which kind would I need? 250/100 single shot stage 2s???

get hybrids. a 238/100 or 250/100 or 250/200 and detune. stages 2s (160/100) will hit 400 but not enough for 450.

I've seen a Beans tuned stage 1 super duty pump 400hp w/ stage 1's..... stage ii's will be a good bit more.

I'm running 180/100s (bigger stage 2s) and i'll be capped around 450. stage 1s can hit 400 doesn't mean they really will every time. they will be maxed out at that too.makes much more sense to spend the extra couple hundred dollars and get bigger injectors to detune. that way you aren't running your stage 1s to the max, but rather running your hybrids to a fraction of their potential.
