MODDED IDM

Has anyone had any problems running a modded IDM. Mine went out and I seen one that was "modded" for sale. Guy said it puts out 140 volt's instead of 110v's. Is there any drawback to this? Will it miss up my injectors? Will it work with my Evo @?

ive had a modded idm in my truck for about 1000 miels now. Picked up some throttle response as well as top end power. My old idm must have been weak, because my results were better than most others who have done this mod.

It basicly turn the voltage up to the injectors froim 120 to 140. It looks like a pretty straight foward mod to do, just need to remove a resistor and replace it with another.

What gains can be expected and what will it do with your injector life?

I'm still learning about this myself. People say no effect on injector life. This is what I was told on another board. "A modded IDM gives you 140+ volts rather than the stock 120v thus moving the timing advanced and a quicker more crisp injection point"
