Not sure what exhaust would be best
Hey everyone, so I am on the fence on which type of exhaust I want to get. Im leaning on the MBRP 4in straight pipe but I'm considering the version with a muffler. I do live in Massachusetts so I'm planning on putting it on after I get it inspected soon. But my main concern is getting pulled over. Has anyone on here been able to use both aftermarket straight pipe and a one with a muffler? Is the straight pipe loud enough that I have to worry about every time I see a cop? Or should I be fine?

If you don't have a cat then take your muffler off, that will be pretty close to what it will sound like

most cops don't actually have the authority to do much about it except for a noise violation which straight piped is no where near loud enough. It's dps/state troopers you have to worry about(at least in texas) and they aren't going to mess with you about it unless you have given them a reason.

I live in souther nh. 5 min from Lowell. I never had a problem. It's a diesels there naturally loud. There no gunna pull u over. Now if ur in civic that sounds like a huge weed wacker then ya they will pull u over. In a truck usually u can get away with alot more. At least were I'm from

I just went through this very thing. I setteled with a 5" turbo back from Diamond Eye. Took longer to remove the old stuff than put on the new. Truck sounds awesome and is not loud at all, until you want it too. Put her to the floor and she barks nicely. Not loud at all on the highway.
For me Diamond eye gets big thumbs up...got mine through tvdiesel.com |

I noticed the diamond eye 5" is aluminized and the 4" is available in both ss or aluminized. Will I gain much more with the 5" vs the 4" is it worth the difference? I could get a all ss 4" for the same price ss the aluminized 5".

Im sure somewere their is a study if 5" is better than the 4" for power and lower egt's but I havent seen it. All I can tell you is the 5" Diamond Eye fit great, not rubbing anywere... great hardware and sounds great!

i like my 4" diamond eye also.
you only need 5" exhaust if you are pushing 500+ horsepower. 5 inch just produces a deeper sound than 4 inch, no difference in egt's between the 2 either.i hope that helps |

Best bag for your buck is the diamond eye. I love mine. My buddy borrowed my truck the other day and I rolled him to lay on her a little on street. That was the first time I heard my truck being drivin (not by me) and man did it sound mean
