Exhaust on an Excursion

I'm going to put an exhaust on my 01 Excursion I know they have 4in kits for the excursion, but I was wondering if anyone has put a 5in exhaust system on an excursion. I know that both kits have 4inch down pipes. But will a 5in kit fit on an excursion?

I don't konw why it wouldn't??? And you are correct on the 4" downpipe

From what I have read on this websit the 5in kit still has a 4in downpipe. This is my first ford diesel I've had so I'm new to this. I was also wondering how does a 4in downpipe attach to the factory turbo since the stock downpipe is only 3 1/2in?

All (or all drop in exhaust kits) will fit the turbo flange. There is no 5" system that I have seen to fit a Excursion, the tail pipe section is VERY differant on the X's.

I made the 4 inch Summit kit fit my 00 Excursion (nothing a little cutting and welding can't fix right?), but I don't think the 5 inch would clear the tank.
