New Batteries

So I'm going to buy two new batteries from autozone.... I'm trying to decide if I want to get the duralast gold or the platinum one. The difference is that the gold has more cranking amps but the platinum is AGM. There is also the optima 6 cells but those flippin things are like 50 bucks more apiece.

SO any input would be rather nice....

I like the Diehard platinum batteries. Optima doesn't make quality batteries anymore. Absorbed Glass Mat batteries are typically more expensive but they are completely sealed with the electrolyte suspended so you could mount them upside down if you wanted. They also won't corrode the terminals like a SLA battery will.

The big question is how much of a difference in CCA between the two and are you in a really cold environment.

People seem to knock Interstate batteries, but I'm happy with all the one's I've used over the years. Dual 850CCA's sure makes starting nice.

I have the Golds cause I got them at a prorated price, but Id go with the DieHard Platinums. Made in USA. DO NOT GET OPTIMAS.

What about ford battery's... Here they have more cranking amps and all that jaz and that the warranty is better than any others a little more expensive but better in every way...

ok the platinum has 75 less amps and is about 20 bucks more apiece....
and i live in washington state but on the island it never gets below 25 degrees...

I noticed Ford sells two batteries for our trucks one has more CCA they seemed to be the smae price as AutoZone Golds IIRC I went with the Golds for the warranty
and they didn't have platinum then

agreed Optimas aren't what they used to be
