gauge pod help
Ok guys, my neighbor gave me a boost and a pyro that i want to install on my truck. I want to install them under the little cubby holder thingy under the dash. I want the under dash mount but i can't find one for only 2 gauges. Does anyone know if they make a 2 gauge under dash mount? Autometer only has a 3. Also what are your opinions for location for the pyro thermocouple? i know that will probably open up a can of worms, but remember i'm not looking at running all kinds of extra horses or pullin a transfer sled, so i'm not gonna run 2 of em. I just want the easiest, most reliable place to get an accurate reading. I was thinking the manifold pipe before the turbo? Already have turbo back exhaust so i don't wanna pull it off to be drilling any holes. Also what line do you tap for the boost gauge. This is the first time i will attempt gauge installs so the easiest and best ways are what i'm lookin for. Thanks for your input

best place for the thermocouple is the drivers side exhaust manifold

Drill into the driver side exhaust manifold for the EGT probe install.
Cut the map sensor and "T" into it for your boost reading - or remove your AIH, drill/tap a plug and use a boost fitting there. Some good writeup's in the tech files. |

You can always get the 3 gauge pod and leave one of the holes empty until you get a third gauge....like a trans temp etc.
X2 on the drivers side manifold....there are some writeups on how to do it. PM Marty...he's done more than a few. Boost is the easiest...just tee into the MAP line going to the MAP sensor. If/when you get a trans temp....there is a plug that you can tap into (I'm not 100% on this...I don't have an auto.) |

X2 on getting that third gauge pod - you need a tranny temp and you can buy it later. There is a port that you plug into that's very simple. While you're at it - get a boost annihilator (sp?) from one of our vendors and install that in the map line = it will take care of your overboost codes and also give you a place to put your boost tube in. |

I just did mine last week, followed the write up in the tech files. Piece of cake.

Say where did you guys find a tech file for gauge installs on a 7.3? I can't find one.
