A valve body will help, as will better tunes... Your looking at a tranny at some point anyway... so save your $$$... Send your chip off to Tony Wildman...

I just got back from Brians Truck Shop and the total bill came to exactly $4661.01. That includes the tranny, 6.0 tranny cooler, and fluids. If you plan on keeping the truck for any amount of time, I highly recommend you get one from him. If you can drive up to Lead Hill Arkansas and have Brian build it right in front of you. He is an awesome person and it will be a trip you will never forget. Bet that.

You can get an Auto tranny and TC a lot cheaper than a new factory 6spd and a really good clutch. I'd say about $6000 for a tranny and TC. ATS, Brians Truck Shop...etc.

run your trans till it feels like its on its last leg......then look at either brians truck shop or Jon Wood (honestly both good trannies...one is towards the east coast...one towards the west...shipping is the difference) for your trans...
If it was a newer trans (less than 20k on it) i would say a valve body...shift kit...torque converter.....those type of things would be worth lookinng at... but if not...go with the above advise if your gonna mod the truck.. |
