trans temp

i just put in trans temp gauge in and i put the sender in the deep whats the normel temp it seem low to me i see 125 and it takes a lot of miles to make it move up as well

Subscribed! I been woundering too though lately mine has been hitting 140 pretty quick and hasnt done that at all before usally got 120 if i was really hauling but now it shoots up 140 150ish should I be worried? sorry to hijack but it saves making a new thread on the same thing.

What's the ambient temp where you are. It should be around 60-80* higher than ambient temp is the rule I've always heard. Mine never gets above 145* and that's with it being pushed a little bit with my current setup.

I've heard 80-100 above ambient. So pretty close to what you've heard.

Anything like they said. I heard 80-100 over ambient.

I run 150* most days, and 140* on colder days. Normal temp here is 75* day in and day out. "cold" days are 60* but we do see down to 30* sometimes. Never colder than that here.

i have 03 with a stock trans gauge it will say normel but my autometer donet move off 100 most of the time

Anything over 200 I'd worry like said about 250* you have caused some damage.

I have a recently installed HD 4R100 in my truck (about 7000 miles and installed at the end of last summer). It runs 70-75 above ambient according to my Glowshift gauge connected to the test port and about 80-95 higher than ambient according to the PCM read by a Scangauge II.
