Need some exhaust advice.
Hey thanks again for the input and information on my tuner question. I recently purchased a 2001 F250 4X4 auto tranny with the 7.3 the only upgrade done to the truck so far is an AFE 2 stage air intake. Next up on my list is to upgrade is the exhaust before I add any tunes. I just happened to be in the summit racing store in GA this past weekend and I had the opportunity to talk with their powerstroke sales person/ "expert" (however I believe this may have been a self appointed title) and I asked him about upgrading the exhaust on my truck. His recommendation was to buy the cheapest kit with the 4" pipe and 5" tip also a 4" down pipe. What are y'all's thoughts and advice towards upgrading my exhaust? Thank you in advance for your input.

4" turbo back is plenty unless you want 5" sound.... thats the only difference and the 5" could be a PITA

get online somewhere and find a diamond eye kit with the downpipe and all your connections, i think you can pick one up for like 249 without a muffler. great fitment and sounds really good after install. Another thing you might think about is a set of gauges for your truck before or while your doing your tunes, help out with watchin your egts, trans temp and boost gauge if you feel like having one of those

do some more research cuz there are better deals out there for the same setup on those gauges, that seems kinda high on the price range. Ive seen it under 300 easily for that exact setup, just gotta look my friend.

When buying stuff for a diesel truck go to a site that specializes in diesels not people that specialize in race cars. The prices are going to be better through diesel performance places and they have knowledge about your truck.

Site sponsors are all pretty good. For exhaust look at aligator or performance truck products both are like $230 shipped.

I've never found Summit to have good prices
![]() Take a look at the SS exhausts from MBRP at PTP and use MBRP15 for 15% off. I too like SS but do you really need the more expensive version (do you want to impress the people you run-over with your clean look? )?Look at the 409SS, yes it's StainLess and will get surface rust on it but Never Rot Out, and also comes with a Lifetime Warranty. With the discount, you get the 4" SS system, muffler and tip for @$430 delivered. |

Not trying to steal the thread but I too am looking into getting exhaust. Whats the difference in these two systems (besides the price)
