Need Advice

Been searching thoughout the site and learning alot. I have the edge evolution on my 7.3. I'm leaning towards chipping it with either the php or tw chip. Correct me if i'm wrong... but i understand i need to run the stock program on the edge just for monitoring in place of gauges and insert chip and use whatever position is needed at times. I bought the truck used and it has the bank exhaust system on it straight piped, lifted with 35's,k&n intake.... the guy put money in it and not really knowing what else was done to it. Is there anything i need to look at or do before ordering a chip. The computer on the truck where u would add the chip has been tampered with as if he had a chip on it and removed it before trading it in. I emailed stealth two days ago about the tw chip and mention what i had but never received a reply! Would it be a gamble to order one of the chips and install?

if there's nothing on the back of the pcm then your' good to order just pull the pcm takes about 5 minutes so you know the code when ordering..
