You're thread title was a little misleading as I was thinking something totally different.I assume you are talking about the EGT probe? Driver side exhaust manifold is most common. On my old 6.0 I tapped toward the end closest to the firewall. There should be a plug on the side of the Trans. just above the pan. Pull that plug and install the sender in its place. I think mine had a hex head and not an allen head. |

When you pull the plug on the side of the tranny make sure you have a oil drain pan because it may loose a little tranny fluid.
P.S I ordered my glowshift gauges with quad piliar last night they are suppose to be here thursday. I got EGT, Boost, Trans temp, Fuel Pressure I went ahead and popped for the 10 buck wiring kit so I do not have to buy alot of wire to hook them up. Last edited by mgassel; 02-13-2012 at 06:17 PM. |

Link for the quad piliar you will see the base price of 199.99 but you have to choose your gauges and it changes the price. 99-07 Ford Super Duty PowerStroke Quad Custom Gauge Package If you get fuel pressure gauge get the 0-100 psi and the egt is 1500 rating 0-60 boost gauge you will never see anything close to 60 for boost. This link is for the 3 piliar you might as well spend the extra 50-60 bucks to get the quad that way you have one more gauge. 99-07 Ford Super Duty PowerStroke Custom Gauge Package |

I ordered mine direct from glow shift with a 60 psi boost, 2400 pyrometer, fuel gauge instead of trans gauge and it was 242.00 with fuel adapter and 3 gauge wiring kit

I have been hereing this placement thing for ages and I still don't understand the thinking. The first thing I see is only one bank is read. Next is your so close to one cyl., that one will dominate. There is no difference in accuracy differance, just a 200 degree scale difference. I have both mine. The last thought is every big truck on the road today has the thermcouple after the turbo and the manufactures say its more accurate. These are $30,000 engines that pull the mountains at over 30psi boost for a long time and need to be watched carefully. I trust CAT. when they say its best. I have never had any of my 625hp fry.
