New truck, got a few questions...

Just picked up an 01 f350 4x4 lariat. It has 230k miles. Had it checked by the dealer and it has great compression and the guy I got it from was the original owner and it has been babied. It has a k&n intake, gauges, exhaust already.

My question is, the guy I got it from did a great job of keeping the air filter oiled. Motor and turbo are great doesnt appear to be any dusting... But I would like to replace it with something a little safer.. Does anyone make a better filter that will fit inside the k&n box? I had the DIY on the truck I just sold but that filter is way to big for this box.. Should I go back to DIY intake or does someone make one that will fit?

Also the rear needs shocks, does anyone have recommendations for a good affordable shock? Its got a lift so Ill have to measure it to see what length ill need..

And last can anyone recommend a good injector cleaner? Ive heard diesel kleen is the best? Not looking for something to run every tank just like an every oil change thing.

Guy before me ran valvoline diesel oil so thats what im sticking with. Rear axle only has 80k miles and the tranny was redone at 120k. I drobe it 14 hours home this weekend and the tranny temp stayed below 150 but I may upgrade to the 6.0 cooler anyway. Any input helps, thanks!!

take out the intake box and do the diy, ive heard bilstien has great shocks but dont know about price on them. i run rev x every oil changed for preventative measure and diesel kleen and 2 stroke oil every other tank. you should also consider switching over to rotella t6 oil, its good stuff.

I may be one of the few on here who actually like my K&N. I put it on there 5 years ago and it seems to be working for me. So....don't what to tell ya.

Shocks - I put Rancho 5000 series on my truck (see Sig). I like how they work.

I use DK in just about every tank.

If you're going to tow much, I would definitely recommend the 6.0L Trans cooler. I tow a 12k gvw 5th wheel and the cooler is hands down WAY better than the 9-row stock one. I pegged my gauge with the old cooler in the summer going up grades, do not even come close with the bigger 6.0L cooler. Absolutely one of the best mods I did to my truck.
