php chip. need gauges?

Im getting the php chip and i am wondering if i HAVE to have the guages right away or is egts only something you have to watch when your towing heavy or gettin on it all the time. i have my stock exhaust straight piped and a diy intake. The main driving i do is highway driving to college about 3 hours will my egts get high just cruisin on the highway? I dont haul nothing ridiculous just our 28ft camper and a few round bales of hay every weekend. Thanks

Basic answer is No...you don't HAVE to have them. BUT...SHOULD you have them, Yes. Running the highway you should be okay unless you pull some grades along your route. Definitely would want some visibility when towing.

I agree with CSIPSD, the Pyro at minimum. A gauge is just a way for you so see what's going on with your truck. As they say on TV, "The more you know....."

That's kind of like asking "Do I HAVE to change the oil?"

Well, no, technically, BUT...

I bought a 3 in 1 Glowshift gauge, I paid $175 for the gauge, sensors, and a painted A-pillar pod.

I would look at Isspro EV-2 myself... but I am rather bias.

There not cheap, but when it comes to gauges that are watching your 10k motor... Do you really want the cheapest?

Absolutely, I would recommend the Edge Insight CTS Monitor. You would not be disappointed.

I just installed a chip for my buddy...and when I showed up no gauges. My suggestion to him was to leave it in stock until you get a gauge. I took him for a ride in mine with a tune running and he was shocked at how fast egt's go up
