Depending on the tuner, over-boosting may still be a problem. One of my buddies (Kodez on here) put my 1.0 wastegated housing from my GT38R (I am running a 1.15 non-WG housing) and kept close to the same boost with minimal increase in spool up time. It did lower his EGT a hair and almost (but not entirely) eliminated his surge issues. He did however also install a wicked wheel, so it probably helped a lot with the surge issue. I doubt it will cause any issues. (I ran my stock housing with my WG wired closed for a few years because it kept my EGT's in check and spooled way faster with zero issues except the inevitable higher backpressure and increased surge under some conditions.) It only take a few hours to remove the turbo and swap out the housing along with a few bucks in o-rings. Try it and if you don't like it you can always switch back.
