Exhaust
New to the diesel scene, and have fund the site very helpful. Please excuse any ignorance on my part at this point.
I have a 2002 F250 CC SB 7.3 4x4 with 135,000 miles and looking to do some upgrades before I get a chip. At this point I only tow a 24 foot boat, so not much of a load relatively speaking. I purchased the truck with an AFE Stage 2 air filter, but that is the only modification at this point (except that I started running Rotella T6). My next stop was exhaust, and then on to gauges, and then the chip. So lets start with exhaust. Many have recommended the MBRP turbo back 4" exhaust. My questions are: Will this lower EGTs over my stock exhaust? if so, any idea how much? Does this come with or without a muffler? If EGTs are lowered, will they be lowered the same with and without the muffler (if it comes with a muffler)? Thanks in advance.... |

They do offer with or without muffler. Check your local inspection laws (if you have them) before you buy, tho. And I recommend getting the stainless, they offer a lifetime warranty on it!

Does yours have the muffler? If not, do you think it makes a difference in the reduction of EGTs?

Yes it does.... It is a very non-restrictive muffler... essentially a straight through pipe with baffled walls. I doubt a straight pipe would be any different except for noise.
