If the boost gauge is electric does that mean it reads off a senser or does it still splice into a boost line. Looks like the ev2 are alot more than ev. What is the difference?

What the deal with the R-72022 wiring kit with dimmer? Can this not be hooked up to the factory dimmer switch?

They're all electric I think, you tap either into the Map line or the Intake Spider.
The EV2's are more expensive (but worth it I think) than the EV1's because they don't use, external, "Amplifier Boxes", are easier to read, and I though the new ones came with a built-in "idiot light" (at least they were supposed to) and easier to wire up. You don't need the dimmer kit, they will dim with the other cluster lights BUT may not be at the same light-level so it's nice to be able to "tune" them the way you like them because if too bright, they can be distracting. All they give you is the right potentiometer to adjust it and a bunch more wire. You could just use a 5cent resistor to do the same thing if you wanted to experiment with different values and find out which one was needed... |

If you can save up the money, I replaced my gauges with the Evolution CTS by Edge. What a great product. Monitors just about every sensor there is, code reader, track mileage and fuel consumption, alarms when things get out of whack... It is pricey, but worth every penny. IMO.

No WAY! that "thing's" Not gauges
All those things do is to monitor what the PCM "sees" No Trans Temp, No Pyro (unless you spend stupid money for add-on senders) and have crappy, "canned" tunes to boot! They're neither Fish nor Fowl, and a poor compromise for real Gauges and real Tunes.... |
