Newbie here...

Well I've been a member for quite some time and I've just been sitting back learning about my 7.3L... Let me say, there is alot of good information that passes through here.

My question is about the turbo surging... I'm told to buy the wicked wheel, waste gate, and I'm also told to buy the ATS 4" ported compressor housing.

Do I need all of this or do they all cure the same thing? I'm just getting started on the mods...

Thanks for the help.
John

i just installed the banks big wheel and that will hopefully help with mine, i wont know until i hooke onto my 5er again though. from what i understand with the AR 1.00 housing and the wicked wheel combined surge is a thing of the past. however lots of people say that the wicked wheel alone cured theirs. i am gonna try what i got now and go from that point...hope this helps some...Rod

Yes - a lot of people say the Wicked Wheel by itsself will cure it - and others say just the 1.00 housing will do the same ...

Vitataldie (sp?) has both and says it works great!

And WELCOME TO THE .ORG!

If you want to cure surge, the compressor wheel is pretty good and cheap. The ATS housing will cure it completely though. Beyond that I'd just go with a whole new aftermarket turbo.
