Need more power without hurting my truck, PLEASE HELP!
Ok guys so I got a 2002 f-250 that just broke a 100,000 and I want some more power. I have no mods what so ever on it. I have read the other forums already and they helped but I want to list a specific list of mods and get your feedback. I don't have the money to put in a new tranny or clutch so those are my big concerns.
I would like to install the basics 4" maybe 5" mbrp turboback exhaust Wicked Wheel afe stage 2 intake TS performance chip The only other mod I would like to install is a snow performance stage 2 or mpg max. Please list any other mods you would suggest that aren't really expensive. Other than that I know there's gauges but according to snow performance you don't need them with there kit cause it comes with a digital readout screen. So what do you guys think will this combo work pretty good without hurtin the truck? I don't tow a bunch with it and it doesn't get driven a ton, maybe 2-3 times a week. Also what horse power and mpg gains do you think I will be getting? Thanks a bunch guys. |

water is a waste unless you tow, then imo its still a waste, don't waste your money on the afe, do the diy. get yourself some good tunes on that ts

psshh no mileage at all. I got 318xxx.
![]() ![]() ![]() Is it an auto or manual trans? If you won't be doing a ton of power, you could just do a Walker Big Truck Muffler for about 75 bucks on the stock exhaust or just straight pipe it. Wicked wheel isn't needed and isn't a performance mod. It just helps with turbo surge issues you might get. You could do the AFE or just a DIY intake. I use a Baldwin PA2818 on mine. TS style chip is good but get it custom tuned by Tony Wildman, Swamps, Beans, PHP, or another good custom tuner. But you should do intake, exhaust, gauges, THEN a chip. |

Thanks for the replys guys, and for the welcoming meassage. This was what I was thinkin you were going to say. I've been talking with a guy who works at a diesel shop here in Montana and he was tellin me that if I did a chip, intake, and exhaust I would be pushin 450 to 500hp and then with the Snow performance kit I would be hittin 600 which I knew was a bunch of
. So I figured I'd get online and talk with some guys who know what there talkin about. What I would like to do is get 425-450hp for now then maybe down the road swap out the PMR rods and push more but IDK will see next year. I'll have about a 5,000-6,000 grand budget to get there. I don't have the money for a heavy duty tranny AND mods its either one or the other. Do you think that 425-450hp is attainable with that amount of money while still keepin the truck reliable? Oh and its a Automatic |

You'll need atleast stage 2, 38r, upgraded hpop (srp1), tranny mods, regulated return, gauges intake exhaust to reach that level of power

Ya that's what I was thinking, due you think 5-6 grand can buy all that?

keep an eye on the classifieds, but new stuff you'd be pushin it unless someone like full force, or unlimited will give you a package deal

Ok thanks a bunch man

i mean just the inj, turbo, hpop is pushin 4500 dollars, then you have to add everything else
|

Now would you need a hpop if you got stage 3 hybrids since they don't use as much oil?
