400hp build
new to the powerstroke world. just got a 01 7.3l. from what ive read with the linkage rods or something you cant exceed 450 hp. so im wanting about 400. I am thinking about buyin bullydog triple dog with crazy larry. but what else would be good,safe to run. Thanks!!1

get custom tunes !!! no edge, bully, or other off the shelf prog.

There used to be a sticky for a basic outlines of what you would need for different power goals. Not sure what happened to that...
but if you do a search you will find many useful posts and discussions around different parts. A good start would be the 38r, injectors, custom tune from Beans, swamps etc theres a handful of other good tuners. and of course you need to have opened up your intake and exhaust. |

Look for the thread about the PMR vs. Forged rods detailing which engines by serial number had which rods and also how to check visually what you got.

160/30's 38r and an spr1 with good tunes would give your right around 400 horse. well you also need gauges, intake, exhaust. valve body, 6.0 cooler and a regulated return or fuel rail cross over would also help out a lot
