Starting to mod..

Hey guys,
I have a 99' 7.3 and I just ordered an excaliber2 from SCT. My next mod might be an intake, but my friend with an srt4 told me i should get a boost controller.. he said i can pick one up for 25 bucks. I believe my truck runs 7-10 psi stock so would this work??

anyways I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me to send me in the right direction... i wanna tear up the streets!

First thing you need to get is gauges EGT, tranny temp, and Boost. Boost controller i am not sure unless he meant MAP fooler

i agree... you need gauges first... you dont want to end up braking something because you cant tell whats going on.... your buddy prob thought a map fooler.....

and only 7-10 psi kinda low I think for a stock truck..... but like the other guys have said gotta get some gauges first...... then just go from there

Hey I found the map fooler on ebay for 40 bucks, I guess this is the safe way to go. now im looking for guages. What mods should i get after this? whats the best bang for the buck?

Gauges and pods can run anywhere from 200 to 400 bucks. Also look into the quadzilla commander and the BD x monitor

so i need to have a gauge for tranny temp and boost? **** 200-400 is a lot but better to be safe than sorry...
