TS 6 Pos chip

hey guys im thinking about getting a chip but i a concerned about the potential damages to my 2001 Powerstroke. i have an intake and an exhaust and compressor wheels to power the beast haha but i need more. so i was looking at a TS 6 pos chip for only 275.00. with ranges up to 140hp. has anyone had any issues with TS or are they pretty reliable and safe? Any info would be appreciated.

I've got a Van Aaken 4 pos chip from DJs in mine now and love it. It towed the trailer great in tow tune and plays well in the same. My sig shows the few mods I have been able to afford, the biggest issues I had was the transmission, but that was before the chip and at 210K. The former owners were a construction company, so that might have had something to do with it, but its all good now. Have really enjoyed the chip but am not affraid to go towing for work with it or play when I am home... still not had time for the strip or to hook to a sled, but I kinda need the truck for work, or I don't work...
I would highly suggest getting and installing the gauges first, get a baseline on tranny and EGT readings then put the chip in and monitor it to make sure your staying safe, but with that setup, I would not be affraid to do it!

Hey man, Check out Dp Tuner . I have One of His Chips and His Tunes on my 6 speed and it Roals the coal. But get a Set Of Gauges First. And Eventually a tranny upgrade. I am not a genius on what you'd need, but Someone will be along to tell you what else.

Gauges first, Pyro, Tranny and Boost.

DieselManor - Taking the Mystery out of Diesel Performance™ has the best kits I have ever seen.

Then you can add a chip to the mix a little safer. TS chips are cheap for a reason... generic tunes, nothing special... Look at Dp Tuner or Elite Diesel.* Welcome to the Elite or www.totaldieselperformance.com for tunes

You will want to add a Valve body to the tranny early on too...

I have a TS-6 Chip in my 2002 7.3L -- Getting ready to have some custom tunes done to it for low end response.. I agree that their tunes (programs) are generic.. Don't get me wrong they find power. Just need to fine tune the shift points, etc...

Yeah, I got a 6 position TS chip on my 99 power stroke. High idle(which is cold start in the morining) 40, 60, 80, 100, 140. I love it. It is easy to install. Plus I live in 20 miles from the TS bussiness, and they will help you with any trouble.
