Rods and costs...

Ok, well to make the long story short i own a 2001 and the rods are probably not the forged ones so needless to say im worried about doing any more mods. where can i get a cheap set of forged rods and how much will it cost to get them installed? i just need an estimate or maybe someone knows cuz they had it done... thanks for any info guys...

some times you can find the stock forged ones on e-bay and i see them every once in a while in the for sale forums here

It's gonna cost some money to put some rods in...

it's a big step - decide if you want to take it after looking at your checkbook!

You can find stock forged rods for about $300-$600, get them checked if you buy used...

Here is a link for a set of rods, Diesel Innovations - Products


But to be blunt you are a LONG way from needing rods... You are at about 325 with the water meth, you could throw a set of stage 2 injectors in there and hit about 375-400 with good tunes.

well thanks for being blunt, i dont have a problem with constructive criticizm , i was just curious tho, and i really dont know for sure what the build date is yet either, so it was a hypothetical question really. thanks for everyones imput tho. its appreciated.

Look at the top of the VC on the passanger side... But thats not set in stone... I have a LATE 01, but have never checked... if it blows it blows...

The above is also the best price I have found on forged rods also. They are great to deal with aswell:burnout
