Question 5" exhaust tips

I am ordering an exhaust kit from FBD next week and was wondering if anyone knows were to purchase weld on 5" chrome tips. I had one on my '99 dually that went from just behind the rear axle and bent out behind the wheel so you could not see anything but the 5" chrome pipe from behind the truck. I have been checking online vendors but have not been able to find anything but the short bolt on tips???

I bought one from jegs in columbus ohio that sounds like what you're looking for. I think it was a bully dog. It was 4" in, 5" out and about 24-26" long with about a 45 degree bend in the middle. I'm sure one of the vendors on here carry the same thing. I bought mine before I found this website and all of the help and good deals on here.

Thanks for the reply, that sounds exactly like what I had. I am sure someone will come along that knows if one of the forum vendors carry that style tip.

You can 't go wrong buying exhaust from FBD either, I put a 5" turbo back with no muffler on my '00 F350 two weeks ago, and a 4" turbo back no muffler on my pals '01 last night. It's almost too easy.

Good to hear that, I have heard all good things about the FBD kits and that the installation is relatively simple. Thanks for the info.

Looking at your mods list, looks like you're going to need more after you get that exhaust on there. I just took out my superchips 50 hp chip (been in there 7 years) and the edge ez. Replaced chip with a 3 position chip from dp tuner. It has a switch that's about the same size as the remote doorlock controller that goes on your keychain. I had mine programmed with the stock setting as well as 40 hp tow and what they call the 80 hp econo tune. This thing flat out gets it. My truck is a six speed, and the chip (even in the 40 setting) made it so responsive it blew my mind. I cant hardly shift it quick enough. If you ever decide you want a chip, this is the way to go. For just over 300$, I got the chip and the F5 controller switch. The really cool thing about it is if you call down there, or up there in your case, (I'm from southern Ohio) you're talking to the owner of the company as well as the one that will be burning your chip. I was really impressed all the way around. Excellent service, reasonable pricing and a product that delivers high performance without excessive smoke and egts. Sorry for the rambling, but along with Gus at FBD, Jody at Dp tuner is a real class act. I'll take these guys any day over some of the other outfits out there. (Some of the outfits in the diesel magazines don't give a flip if they help you or not) Just my 2 cents worth, might not even be worth that much.

Thanks for the chip info. I will give them a call after the exhaust and gauges.

I'll tell you I'd personally buy a 6" tip or bigger if it was me. In fact, I'm eyeing up this one 7" pipe at at a local big rig shop trying to figure out how to reduce one end down to 4" and it's about 30" long right now.
