gtp38r questions...

So I am going to buy a gtp38r in a couple of weeks here and I have a few questions.

1) Am I going to notice any more power with the stock injectors? I have a dp-tuner, intake, exhaust and I will be doing some stage 2's in the near future. Anyone dyno their truck before and after with stock injectors?

2) The turbo says it comes with a high flow 1.0 turbine housing, is this ebpv free and will I be able to just hook my downpipe right back up? Or do I need to swap the housing from my stocker? Im getting the turbo from riffraff...

3) I want to gut my pedestal, can this be done with the pedestal still in the truck with the turbo removed? Is there room to just take off the snap ring and pull the internals out then put a freeze plug in back and tap and plug the front?

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

there is no ebpv in the 38r and no you dont have to switch housings. with the turbo off just take out the 4 bolts holding down the pedestal and gut it on the workbench. it will be good to change out the o rings anyway. i dont know if the 38r necessarily gives you more ponies but it will pull harder in the upper rpms with the larger exhaust housing. its an ok turbo, i used to run one but now run an h2e on stock sticks. my birthday is next month and sticks are going to be my present.....

i picked up a non ebv pedistal and a high flow outlet when i did mine for like 150 more dollars and now i never have to worry about the pedistal leakin. the thing you'll notice the most is the noise. they are loud!!!

Thanks guys, I think I'll just throw a non-ebpv pedestal on then.

Do you need to get new tunes from Jody when changing from stocker to 38r?

Hey bruce51d, did the bolts to attach the high flow non-ebpv housing to the turbo come with the housing or turbo? If they don't do you recall what size they are? Thanks again.

Hardware and o-rings is included.I love my 38r.Best mod I've done and enjoy it everyday.
It is definitely louder sounds like being on a plane ride and I'm running a superchips 1705 tuner and now have a boost fooler to add too.Good luck and enjoy it.
