Foil Mod gains???

Ok, Im a newbee here and I was looking at some diy cheap mods. I want to do alot to my truck but this economy has got me down. I saw the Foil delete mod. Does this help/hurt anything? increase sound? heat? or just look better under the hood? I will be doing the Zoodad mod also. Anything else thats cheap and could help it out would be great too! The truck is an 01 F250 7.3 Auto. has 4" exaust and downpipe, K&N intake and currently have an edge evolution programmer, but am looking at getting a TS chip. Thanks.

Just did the delete mod to my truck... no gains, just more turbo whistle and better looks under the hood. It was worth the hour of work IMO. Second... def go for the TS chip!

removing that edge programmer will be your first "cheap" mod.

Foil delete is for nothing but a cleaner looking engine.

The 6637 intake is good.

Get some guages (boost, EGTs, tranny).

THEN get ya a chip, buy the generic TS chip then have it reburned to some custom tunes later, or just go ahead with some custom tunes. Many sponsors offer guages/chip packages, talk to some of them for some deals.

The foil delete increases " in cab " turbo whistle, it is there to provide less turbo noise to drive you nuts in the cab..take it off and it looks better and you can actually hear the turbo in the truck.. it wont hurt a thing..its a pain in the *** to get off lol

yea ditch the K & N, not good there filtration rate is not as good as it should be, from what i remember about these filters, there are much better filtration systems out there, id highly suggest the 6637 mod, easy and will keep all dirt out of your motor..

the chip is fine for now..it wont destroy your trans if you dont abuse the **** out of your truck, respect the truck and power and itll respect your tranny, if your going to get a new chip spend the few extra dollars and buy a custom tuned by PHP,DI,TW etc.

other then that your on the right track...a set of gauges should be in your neer future too!

thanks for the replys. this is a great site! im learning somthing everyday! yeah i hope some gauges are under the christmas tree. I had no idea the K&N was a bad setup. i will be getting the 6637 from NAPA to replace that. I have the edge sold after christmas and will be gettin a chip then. leaning toward the TSchip because of price mainly how much would it be to get custom tunes on it? planing on doing the foil mod (i like the whistle) and zoodad mod tonight. thanks again
