Auto Tranny Fluid

So I need to change mine out. Tried searching around the forums but couldn't really find any threads on it. What is the best to go with? My understanding is the prior owner put synthetic in. I'm not adverse to doing the same but wanted to get some opinions.

I have used Castrol Merc V for a long time and had no issues, the best non synthetic IMO. If I were to use a synthetic, it would be Schaffers.
