detroit 60 turbo
Hey guys! I found a detroit 60 series wastegated turbo for under $400. Now I did a search and did come up with a little info but not what I wanted. I am wanting to get 238/80 or 100 injectors to go with this turbo. What I do know- Some guys are running them, It will fit with a t4 mounting kit, and finally it will run 250cc hybrids. What I don't know- just how well it would run them, spooling compared to the 38r, psi rating, and finally if its even worth doing. Any help would be really appreciated guys. Thanks in advance!
Ps. Its a GTA??? Part number 23528069. Its still in the box and it has 1-R23535324 on the box. Im pretty sure its a 4294 journal bearing turbo off a 98 or newer engine. Assuming im right, that's why I say I've heard of people using them. Last edited by vanderchevy18; 12-06-2010 at 06:44 AM. |

Ok. Im still not sure but I am pretty sure its a journal bearing gta 4294 with a wastegated 1.01 ar housing. If I am right it should be basically a gt42r if I welded the wastegate and put an external one onon right? That would mean it could street 550+ hp with a 1:1 drive pressure up to 40 psi and a max of 55 to 60 psi. So then my questions become- What would be the laggyness of this turbo with my setup comparable to the 38r in a dd situation, the smokyness again in dd application, and wether or not I could or should compound it with my stock turbo rebuilt with a wicked wheel and turbomaster wastegate? I know there's a lot of work involved but I have the resources to build my own setup.
