Forged Rods?

Ok so I have a 2000 f250, with a build date of 10/99. I always assumed that all of the 2000 year model trucks had forged rods but from doing a little more research im finding that that isnts always true. Any one know a rough build date for the cut off before they went to the PMRs? Can I take my VIN to a ford dealership and find out?
Thanks
Jim

You have forged rods. To double check you need to pull the inspection plug out of the motor, it's on the driver side by the oil filter. You'll need a 5/16" piece of key stock about 2" long to take it out, the inspection is the lowest of the 2 plugs. Pull the plug out and look in the hole with a flashlight, you may need help barring the motor over to see a rod cap. IIRC the crank bolt is 23mm, when you can see the rod end look and see if it has a bolt head or a nut. If it has nuts (haha) it's forged if you see bolt heads you have PMRs.

Instead of going on what you hear or read, go out and look.

It's the only way to be 100% sure.
