6.0L tranny cooler installed in front of grill?
so i got a 6.0l tranny cooler for my '01 f350. obviously, i was going to put it in place of the small stock one but then LIGHTBULB!!!! since it seems a lot of folks put the tru-cool in front and leave the stock one in place,,,why not do the same with the 6.0L. so i was going to fab it in place in front of the condenser.
any thoughts? it seems quite a bit bigger than the tru-cool. i paid 200 for it brand new which seems like a lot but oh well. any thoughts on if it will block too much air? has anyone else done this? not worried about any oil flow problems. |

Just install it in place of the stocker and forget about it.
re: 200 bucks new? great deal!! You suck!! |

yeah man the 6.0 tranny cooler will give you enough coolin by itself, and it bolts up in the stock lacation. all you have to do is get some adapters to connect the 1/2 hose to the 3/8 hose. best mod you can do on these trucks imho.

I dont think it would fit out front?

i have mounted my trucool one behind my grill i just drilled in to the supports and used the hardware provided.

That is how most mount them but I still dont think it would fit.
The middle is the trucool and the bottom is my 6.0 cooler.
