Early 99 Intake

Got a question for yall. I have a Early 99 7.3L with some mods already. Currently I have the DIY intake setup, and it works alright. I have a slight problem with it however...When I run the truck in the rain with this filter, my truck burps or misses or somethin and loses all power for a split second and sometimes at a redlight or stop sign, completely cuts off. When I put the stock airbox and filter back on, no problems. So with that being said, I am gonna get a new intake, and need to know if the AFE stage 2's will fit in the early 99s. Most say 1999.5 - 03. Anybody had any experience with this? Does it work or need modifications? Any other suggestions on the miss/burp? Thanks guys.

Julian

If its the one I think it is, make sure your flow meter didn't fall out of the intake pipe.

in order for the 99.5 intakes to fit, you need to get a new rubber intake hose. the one that goes from the sir box to the first junction. i had to order it when i bought the ford ais box. i forget the part number, i probably have the receipt somewhere with the part number on it. or find a site that sells the ais airbox, i remember they had the part number for hose for that system.

Riffraff Diesel: RDP 6637 Filter Kit

This is the exact intake I'm running and i've never had that problem. The filter it came with is the waterproof one

They also sell the early 99 version for $15 more

My 99 F350 shuts off sometimes while driving. Only happens when it is raining. Have removed the IDM & checked it out by shaking it to see if water is inside but it seems dry. Took water hose & soaked everything good but it doesn't act up when doing this. Anyone have any ideas?
