7.3 performance

Everyone talks about getting a 7.3 to beat a 6.0 but how about if a duramax pulls up beside of me or a cummins how well will the 7.3 do with them.

When I had a diy intake, straight pipe exhaust, and crimped off WG... my buddies '07 dmax auto would smoke my 6spd off the line HARD. He would even give me a 1-1.5 truck headstart and just roll past me while brake boosting.

Top end is a different story. From a rolling start from 45mph+ I would ALWAYS pull on him or we'd be dead even.

Add a tuner and some sticks to my 7.3 and I'd be romping him into the ground.

A 7.3 w/ tuner/intake/exhaust will hold or even beat a 12v w/ intake, exhaust, boost elbow, and fuel plate. Now add sticks to the equation and that 7.3 is hauling a$$

It's gona be hard to beat a duramax I think they are stock with 350 HP or something like that could be wrong tho.

Mine with Stage 2's and a modded H2e with good tunes and a lighter OBS..no problem with them so far..there's always someone faster out there.

My buddies Duramax with intake exhaust and a garbage edge chip can smoke the tires from a 35-40mph roll. And those are 40 inch tires. Unless you have about 10 grand under your hood, not gonna happen.

haha if your driving a 7.3 i would make a quick u-turn when you see a d-max or cummins.

Well unless your going to dump thousands into your 7.3 like some of us have

build your 7.3 right with about 500 bucks in mods and depending on what ur racing but i can hang with most durmaxes and cummins round here and im a dually. so.

I used to own a duramax LLY (04.5) and had the PPE HOT xcellerator, boost controllerm built allison, triple disc converter, and a host of other standard mods. It was just plain ridiculous for daily driving. The 7.3 I now have it has great torque and driveability but the twist and HP just isnt there with the basic mods. Granted the 7.3 is greatly improved over stock, but it takes serious coin for a 7.3 to run with a modded duramax and anyone who says different is blowing smoke up your a$$.

well there aint any fast ones around apperently, most of those boys can make 500+ on tunin only and exhaust. 500 bucks in mods aint even tunin and exhaust so i dont know what youre talkin about
