zf-6 clutch
just picked up a e99 f-250 2x4 with a 6-speed, it has 475,000 miles and a bad rear end. i plan to just use it as a work truck, with a few minor mods, for example intake, chip, and exhaust. my question is how far can u push a stock clutch? i know it all depends on how u drive it and what condition it is in. how far have you pushed it before you had it slip.

With that many miles, even if it's been replaced once or twice, it's not a good idea.
You're better off getting an upgraded South Bend or Valair clutch rather than risking a clutch exploding (worst case scenario) and causing you to need a new transmission as well. |

don't now when it was replaced, i bought it off my buddy's company he should have it on record of when it was replaced, if at all. i was more curious as to how far other people have pushed it.

my truck has about 200,000 and its on its third clutch. It slips in 6th gear only if I shift from 5th getting on it. But if let off it stops slipping and wont slip again.

If your worried about it make it the first upgrade you do. A chip and intake do no good if the truck can't move or clutch slips with the slightest power adder.
