Injector Sizing?
Ok guys, some of you know that I'm doing some major upgrading now, and I'm stoked. But coming down to the fine details now, I need actual opinions from people who have ran like set-ups. I am getting my BTS trans in the next 2 weeks, I am running a 38r with 1.00 A/R housing, IH bellowed up-pipes, and the other mods in my sig, prolly others too lol. Probably going with Jim's Rosewood injectors. Definitely gonna do a hybrid injector, my question is with this turbo setup how are my egt's going to be with 200/30%'s vs. some 238/80%'s. Can the 238/80%'s be tuned down enough for towing duties? Not planning on racing, or sled pulling, just want some fun power, and tow power. I frequently tow 5-12k lbs in boats, tractors, etc. While swapping inj's I am going to do comp 910 valve springs and chromoly push rods. I do run a 2 stage W/M setup which I can basically put my EGT's wherever I want, but I do not want to be tied to spraying all the time.

I run 250/30% with a 38r with 1.00 and u will peg 1600 on ur egt's no problem at WOT, 45-55 miles an hour and it's pegged. I also have 40's but I have 4:56 gears I don't know how much that is hurting me. I already had my 38r on the truck before I did all my mods so I went ahead and kept it to see how it would work and it sucks. Talked to swamps and couple others and 42r is way to go and with a 42r it will still do good if I want to put 200% nozzles on the 250's..... U r running water/meth but u will probably be constantly spraying it I would think. I know when I run the 1/4 mile track I hit 1600 by 1/8 mile part. I prob hit 1800 or so by the end. I see u pull 5-12k, u will hate ur egt gauge, I pull 10k travel trailer sometimes and at about 70 mph I sit at 1200 flat land and 1500ish on a little hill driving to the coast, IMO I would do a h2e turbo or 42r. Hope that helps, others mite have a diff opinion just makes sense to me.

So I just re-read ur post and u said 200/30% not 250, ummm..... Maybe my post will still help. Haha my bad man.

I'd keep the 2's and have TW adjust your tunes so you don't have to spray. How old are your 2's..could have old style nozzles..very smokey and hot.

Missread your post....38r I'd stick with 2's, go Hybrids and try for 500HP modded H2e or ...

Yah, so some small hybrids 200/30% are going to run hotter than a "stage 2" 160/80%? As far as efficiency, wouldnt a hybrid use less oil?
And h2e? Could I get out the door for under 2g's? |
