WTB: TUNER FOR 7.3? I want mileage...

Hey Guys,

So I have a 2003 7.3L F250 4X4 CC Long bed that I use exclusively for towing my 8k boat.

What tuner/ tunes should I get?

Currently I have an "Edge Evolution" programmer that I am running on "Tow" mode which is +60HP. I am only getting 14.5 MPG even when towing my jetski!

What can I do to get better mileage?

Specs:
250k miles
Spectre Intake,
stock exhaust with 4" silverline muffler (dumped)
Gauges
285/75/16 BFG AT's
Automatic Trans
3.73 gears (I think)

I would be happy to get 14 pulling 7k. When My little trailer is loaded up its about 7k and I get 11. With my 12k 5er I get about 10.

with my dp, i get 18mpg, towing is about the same, i like to smoke every now and again so im sure i could be getting better

Huh?!? I take it you are getting these numbers from the lie-o-meter on the roof? That thing goes nutts when you add tunes. do it this way, top off the tank and then drive. Fill back up to the top again then take miles you drove and divide by gal put in. That is how you figure what you are really getting.

Mine tells me I get 26

For towing and milage id go with either Swamps or Matt@gearhead. I have had both and they are both amazing... If you really want to spend the money a set of 175/30s would give you about 30 more hp and about 3-4mpg more as well.

Im with Tubular, Im calling bullsh%t on those numbers Dasa. On a weekly basis i tow 4k mow trailer, 14K gooseneck/skid steer, AND will run completely empty, I average around 14-15 MPG.

On highway trips, completely empty, if i keep it below 75 i can get 18-19 TOPS. Which i still think is pretty d%mn good, but no way on the 22+...
