wastegate actuator
how do you know if your diafram is going bad or not... i know i'm getting compressor stall/ surging... that much i have narrowed down and i'm fixing that soon with a wicked wheel. but i'm thinking of upgrading the actuator aswell and just wondering if i need to... any ideas on what to look for?

When you have it off to put w-w in put a little air pressure on it & see if it moves. I did mine with a hand pump.

ok so that i can do... but i have to as how that will tell me if i'm good or not... is there a set range of pressures it should move... if so where could i find that... i can use a press gauge to check it ... but i dont know where to find the numbers.

The press I don't know. If I remember correctly you adjust the rod til it lines up with the wastegate closed & then shorten the rod 6 turns clockwise ( shorter ). Then I just put a little air press on it to hook it up.

spec is .0039" with 5.5 to 6.5psi
if you want the upgraded actuator i believe its a 452603-0015 it looks exactly like stock but has a stiffer spring. |
