more power for heavy towing
Hi guys,i'm new to the 7.3 performance world-not the stock 7.3 world.I was a ford diesel tech from 1994 to 2004-so i worked on plenty of 7.3's.
I recently sold my 2000 f250 and bought an early 99 f450 to pull my 48ft gooseneck enclosed trailer.Fully loaded i'm around 25000lbs combined weight.Anyway,it's pretty good from a stop(probably because of the 4.88 gears)but at highway speed it's pretty lazy.I guess the biggest problem is making the power while keeping low egt's.Any help would be great. |

what he means is get an intake, put a 4in exh (or cut out cat&muffler) get the big three gauges (EGT Trans Boost) then look into a custom tuned chip such as elite, PHP, TW ect. then to help keep the trans cool (if it gets to hot) a 6.0 trans cooler. if still not enough then get upgraded injectors (sticks) and a D66 turbo (thats the only one that will bolt up to our E99 pedistal.)

You could get an H2E turbo with its mounting kit too. Then it will work on the early 99.
