Need Hypertech Power Programmer 3 info for a '99

Hey guys, I picked up a Hypertech Power Programmer 3 at a garage sale this morning just to resell and make some $$ for my '51 F-1 project. But i'm finding that since they don't make it anymore I can't seem to find the specs on it.

I plugged into my wife's Durango just to make sure it powered on and it does, it goes through it's menu's but obviously can't communicate with the vehicle. Looks like it only fits a 1999 7.3L.

So a couple of questions, what does this do specifically and what are the HP/TQ gains? Also, is there any chance that it's vin locked or something that would cause it to not work for someone that bought it? I don't know anyone in town that owns a '99 or i'd test it before selling it.

Thanks - Joe -

If they replaced their stock program for one of the performance programs the one inside of the controller might be a stock program. no way of knowing as far as I can tell., when you plug the thing in you need to find a 99-03 7.3 liter to check and see.

I have the 1705.

Did some snooping around, looks like 50HP/108TQ and it does only fit the 1999, the 2000 & 2001 + have different part numbers

Yeah, Hypertech was pretty good about making programmers that only worked on certain model year trucks.

If ya want one for a 2000 I have one. I'd sell it to ya for $25. Might even give it to ya. Seems as though no one on here wants to touch it. I know I won't. Especially after using a custom tuned chip.
