Foil Delete

I know there has to be a write up somewhere on here about Foil delete but I cant find it. So whats involved in the foil delete? I assume its fairly easy.

It's a real easy mod. Just find the pipe with the foil on it. peel it off. will have yo scrub to get all glue and residue off.

And watch out for the foil!!! That **** will rip your hands to shreds if you aren't careful! It can get mighty pointy...

do you loose anything by removing the foil? does it affect the temps in a good or bad way... i really like the look of it but i wanna know how it will affect the performance.

No, you won't have to worry about any temperature increases or decreases. The foil is only there to keep the insulation around the pipe for noise dampening. Ford didn't want customers complaining about the turbo spooling sound (can you actually believe SOME people didn't want to hear this!!! ), so they wrapped the intercooler pipe with insulation.

looking at all the info i was thinking it was just for noise reduction, i just wanted to make sure before i caused issues ya know...

Not a problem. Just be sure to wear gloves of some kind, and if you don't wear gloves... be careful.... The foil can be a biotch to get off and will likely scrape the **** out of your hands. It takes a while to get it all nice and smooth too. Took me about 2 hours to clean it all up. I'd say overall, it's about a 3 hour job. Have fun!
