russell braided brake lines - Dont fit left rear wheel
Anyone else run into this problem or did I get a bum kit? Kit number 696500 - 99-03 Superduty 6-8" lift. Everything fit fine until I got to the left (drivers) rear. Since caliper is on the front of the axle, line is about 6" short. On their instructions their picture of that side has the caliper on the rear. Could it be that the eary 99 calipers are switched and the others are not? Bum kit? Can't call them till Monday.

You are right, some calipers are switched and others are not. When I was shopping for a backing plate and brake shoe assembly I found that some calipers were on the front and some were on the rear. On my 2000 it is mounted on the front whereas my buddies 99 it is on the back. When I called a dealership, they asked me if it was on the front or back.

Thats what I was afraid of. I guess I will call them first thing on Monday. Hopefully they have a replacement as rest of kit is allready on truck.

Spoke with Edelbrock today after being on hold for 30 minutes - don't know what the company is going thru. They said they just didn't try the brakes on trucks with switched calipers. I will mail them my short line and they will send me a lengthened one.

It sucks that they didn't send you the right line in the first place, but I guess thats what happens when they want to save a few bucks. Good to hear they are sending you the correct one, I hope you dont have to pay for shipping.
